Every long-lasting series has that turning point book, where many of the fans get pissed. For this Sookie series, this is that book. Things get dark - really dark - and many of the stuff alluded to before becomes canon now. I guess I can see where fans were disappointed, but really, you should have seen it coming. These books, light and funny and easy to read, are also pretty dark, violent, and deep. It's a good turning point, and I like where it's going.
