Wonderful, short book that is filled with rich words. The book portrays a typical boy who dislike poetry changing into a poet. The whole book is made of one huge poetry of Jack's.
I really enjoyed it because we can really connect with how Jack felt, especially that we started poetry writing in writing arts class. Who knows what poetry is? We can writing almost anything and say it's poetry ^-^
It is sad due to what happened to Jack's dog, but everyone must move on. The book is a good tribute to the yellow dog. Lastly, there are a lot of creative poetry techs in there and it has taught me more about poetry. I even tried one myself where I segregated an a circle in the middle, making crack lines and wrote words in it; it was suppose to be a moon with a meaning. A lighter side and a darker side.
Here's a random para.:
As the morning died, you rose to the sky. You guided us from the darkness. You shown us the enlighten path. One side, luminous and heavenly and the other side, unknown....more
