A funny, light reading: good for a relaxing night at home (which is more or less what it takes to finish it). The moral at the ending, alas!, is very very very predictable, which in my opinion, spoils the interest in the story. Having seen the movie before reading the novel, I had the face and expression of the great Meryl Streep as Miranda Presley and I couldn't help figuring her while reading. But the actress, somehow, was much more interesting than the character on paper. The writing is nothing special (very plain, or at least the Italian translation is)and some dialogues are honestly boring, if not senseless. Anyway, I'd rate it good chick-lit (a genre I'm not usually very keen on).
