Excellent dystopian mystery novel, with spectacular worldbuilding and nicely morally ambiguous characters. The subplot is ... well, it's not nice enough to be called a romance, but it is explicit and built around D/s power dynamics. I found it very compelling. This is a four-book series and running, but this is the best of those that have been published thus far, though Control is also excellent. This comes out of a small press which is (full disclosure) run by a friend of mine, and even though you can find the full text on the internets, it's well worth having a hard copy - I've read this countless times.
