I saw this book on the goodreads site this past summer and it sounded like something that I would like to read. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it sitting on the shelf at my local library. I really enjoyed reading about the girls from Ames. This is a story of friendship and all the things that go into building and maintaining life-long friends.

As the book makes a point to show how woman's relationships become strained during their 20's and 30's. This is mostly due to marriage, the birth of children and often moving away from our childhood town. A lot of women tend to lose contact with chidhood friends once we become wives and mothers. It takes a lot of effort to maintain these relationships as we try to juggle everyday life. The girls from Ames are an amazing group of women who have managed to remain friends for more than 40 years. They have had their ups and downs and their share of tragedy, but through it all they have stayed connected.

I loved reading about all of the girls and their unique personalities. I also was able to see how they continued their friendships. I highly recommend this book to all woman. Great book!
