This book is difficult to review on its own because it couldn't be read as a stand-alone novel. The first book isn't rehashed, which is nice if you are reading them all in a row, but could be confusing if you're not, since each leads right in to the next.

In this book, the gap between the books and the TV show grows even wider: at this point, there is almost nothing similar. Again, not a bad thing. It just forces you to view them as 2 entirely separate entities that just happen to share a few things.

This particular book is memorable in that you get to know the characters much more, and you start to see that maybe Damon isn't totally a jerk, and is actually kind of swoon-worthy, just as you'd always felt. ;)

So, it's an enjoyable read, but definitely just another piece of the puzzle.
