This series is like candy. I do wish the copy editors had been a little more en pointe, as each book has had a couple of odd typos. Riordan isn't the greatest writer ever, but he is good enough, and the storylines are so fast-paced and fun you find yourself halfway through in no time. Plus it's strangely exciting to remember the Greek myths you haven't thought of in decades. Another thing I really like about the series is the clever explanation of ADHD and dyslexia as symptoms of being a half-blood (spawn of a god and a mortal) -- they are supposed to be alert to everything at once in order to notice monsters, and their brains are hardwired to read ancient Greek. What a cool way for a kid to get to revamp what they have been told is a disability!
