I'm almost giving this two stars for the horrible way in which genetics was treated here. This is one of my big pet peeves, but I've learned to let it go. Let it just be the magic. The characters, though movie-screen stupid, are likable. The feeling is upbeat. The writing is smooth and enjoyable. But ultimately, I have to class this as a fluff read. And you know what, there really is nothing wrong with that.
