really liked it
bookshelves: fiction
Read in January, 1995

I'm not generally a big Tom Wolfe fan -- I wasn't even that knocked out in his new journalism days. But I enjoyed this rollick immensely; I thought it captured perfectly the self-absorbed egos of the high-flying finance world of New York and had a brilliant method for pitting that against the very different world of the city's underclass.
