Have been wanting to read this book, but with school have less time for fun reading so decided to do the audio thing. I really think in this case, the audio improves upon the experience. The narrator, Peter Riegert, gives a great flavor to the story. You get to hear the proper pronunications for all the Yiddish and his inflections and accents distinguish the characters.

Highly recommend this book for lovers of hard-boiled detective stories. In an interview after, Chabon says that book is his homage to Raymond Chandler.
