What took me so long to read this book? It's so completely right up my alley. It follows Omakayas and her family in the Northern Woods in 1847. I love Louise Erdrich, and I love this book! The details of daily life of an Ojibwa girl are so interesting, beautiful, and peaceful. I went to sleep each night thinking of Omakayas and her family. I'm eager to read the next two books about Omakayas.
