S7S is a marvelous book, both in the game it presents and how it presents it. As a manual, the instructions are well laid out and clear enough to understand even if you have no previous experience with the system. Chad's tone is very conversational but firmly in the didactic camp. The world it showcases is amazingly compelling, and while there is a good amount of setting material in the book, it is no overwhelming, relying more on laying down some basic assumptions and colors about certain elements of the setting and then allowing the reader to grab those basics and interpret them however they see fit. The quick deconstruction of the Swashbuckling genre at the end (not to mention the list of inspirations) highlights the key things any game of S7S should be concerned with, providing a quick cheat-sheet of how to make your game awesome. Chad hit it out of the park with S7S and I cannot wait to adventure in the skies.
