This is a fantastic book that deals with all the things young single hope for and dread. It dissects friendship and love, fear and self-image, even courage and nobility, in a modern sense. This story will touch anyone who hopes for love, and hopes to one day love him or herself.

Although it is clearly chick-lit, there is no sappy love story with trite sentiments, but a real, palpitating heartbeat inside of a deep and loveable heroine. The story is not a perfect fairy tale - the movie love kind of story where everything falls into place. But it is brimming with raw emotion just as touching encouraging as in the most perfectly aligned film. There is no "That's a nice thought, but it could never really happen, especially to me." Instead, you finish the book thinking, "Hey, that just might be my future."
