This book was informative, readable, and nonjudgmental. I consider food an important subject, and Pollan's book definitely opened my eyes to the complexity of our current food chain. Sure, he waxes poetic from time to time (which adds to the entertainment aspect), but in the end it's an essential read in the form of enjoyable educational text.
