it was amazing

this book was dark, gritty, and completely unforgiving. the characters were all so hurt or damaged in one way or another, but it all remained believable. i kind of expected a vampire musician named dante living in nola to hit every cliche out there. that was far from the case with this book. this is very much a part one of a bigger story. we get to see the beginnings of most of the story lines but not where they end up. without leaving everything at a huge cliff hanger we are just left with all loose ends while reaching for book two.
