Let me just start by saying that this is one of the funniest books ever. Don't let the fact that it is written for children sway you. It's a little guy vs. big guy story with an ingenious plot and an even smarter resolution. Merrill has a gift for alliteration that can't be beat, and her ear for New York City dialogue is uncanny. If just thinking about the 2000 Presidential Election gets your blood boiling, do yourself a favor and read this book. It's nice to hear a story where the good guy wins, even if this only happens in fiction these days.
