I expect that some classics scholars and students would not entirely approve of the Fitzgerald verse translation and the occasional artistic liberties it seems to take with the Latin. But the metre keeps the story moving, even through some of Virgil's clunkier set-piece speeches and the ever-increasing death count of the many battles. A perfectly decent initial approach to one of the classic texts of the Western literary canon.
