A predictable but satisfying end to a simplistic fantasy series. While this was not my favorite series, there were certain elements that entertained me while reading through the Belgariad. Characters, while mostly flat and static, were recognizable in their traits and loveable in their uniqueness. The plot, while undeniably basic, relaxed me and allowed me to enjoy a typical fantasy. Such a typical fantasy can be -from time to time - worthwhile to read. While I may not specifically or wholeheartedly recommend Eddings' books to fellow readers, I will acclaim this as a quick, fun-filled novel if someone asks about it. The glorious, climatic end to this series was not a disappointment.
