Book 12 of the series has Anita pursuing serial killer vamps targeting female strippers and using mind tricks on humans to hide themselves. The ardeur is also causing issues for Anita as it is requiring more frequent "feedings". Mostly because Anita has now formed her own triumverate with Nathaniel and Damian, something unheard of and therefore no one can really offer her any assistance in understanding how her powers work. Another thing that doesn't help is that Anita is a necromancer and all necromancers used to be killed on sight as ruled by the vampire council, so there is no precedence for her situation.
