    <body><![CDATA[Not quite a cookbook and not quite a complete taxonomy, this book gives a rough overview of where we get most of our modern food from (California, apparently), how it got that way, how to cook it and when it's in season.  I didn't like the fact that the recipes were mixed in with the text, but the back stories were excellent.]]></body>
