I liked the way the chapters were laid out, with each story applying to a specific question. I didn't mind that the stories followed the difficulty of the questions rather than being presented in chronological order.

Unfortunately the chapters were hit or miss, with more misses. A couple were blatantly homophobic, there was lots of violence, and some seemed a little far-fetched. I didn't mind that the main character Ram wasn't a saint. He committed some crimes, but he mostly had good intentions, and the victims were all "bad guys."

The end did have some twists that surprised me, and it was a fairly quick read. I've read that the movie is much better than the book, and I would think that it would have to be. I can't see a strict interpretation of this book garnering any awards. Read if you are curious, but it is by no means a must read.
