Chuck Palahniuk never ceases to engage, confound, annoy, or repulse me--sometimes all the above. But I keep on reading about whatever he puts out there. The greatest challenge this time out was following the non-native speaker language of Pygmy, the horniest covert terrorist you'll ever hope to meet. The vision of American society through the highly-indoctrinated view of Pygmy is still revealing and humorous to us indwellers. I found the final resolution a little too swift, a little too pat, and somewhat at odds with the author's otherwise savage vision.
