I loved this book. It told a story of a girl growing up whose dad was working for the Manhatten Project in WWII. I loved getting a feel of what it would be like to live in such a secret community that really did happen, and also having family whose job was top secret. The characters were very interesting-most of the main characters were intellectual teen-agers, who thought much like their brilliant parents working on the bomb. This story is beautifully written, making the reader feel as though you are right there living those bare houses with "Oppie" and his relatives(Oppenheimer). It also makes the reader think about how much that one invention has affected the history of the world. This is a great book!
