I first read this at the age of 14 so my review may be tainted but I still considered this book and this author to be one of my all time favorites. Hope you enjoy it.
I just picked this up because of recommendations from several people. Can't say that it sounds very interesting, though. Obviously your experience of this book fits with my initial reaction. I've never read Zelazny, and nothing of his sounds all that great but he has such a huge following.
Peter wrote: "are you still reading this? I think his best work is his amber series."I got about half way through with an audiobook version. I'm going to start again with the paper version when I get home in a few weeks.
Luke you may find this interesting while reading LORD OF LIGHT: the CIA used the script/set designs from a film version to aid in the freeing of hostages in Tehran. See:www.lordoflight.com/cia.html

Unfortunately I'm very busy on a family-visiting-trip until next week, so this review and the Children of the Sky review and the #150 special episode will have to wait.
