it was amazing

After just a few pages I was transported from the sandy, palm-treed beaches of Kauai to the rocky shores of Guernsey - an English Chanel island occupied by Germany during World War II. This novel is filled with folksy and endearing characters, and explores how great literature bound and occupied a group of unlikely friends, enabling them to survive the unthinkable circumstances of war. It’s a quick, memorable read... perfect for the plane, pool or, best of all, tropical paradise. Rated PG.
