I became interested in Frankl's theory about our striving to find meaning in the things that happen in our lives only recently. This book is a follow-up to Man's Search for Meaning and goes into greater detail about Frankl's ideas. I found it stimulating and thought-provoking. I much prefer his train of thought that we choose to find meaning in the struggles and pain of our lives, rather than framing them with the labels of sublimation and rationalization. It seems to me that Americans are stuck in a negative, hopeless psychological view of life. Too bad we haven't embraced Frankl's positive philosophy wholeheartedly.
