bookshelves: couldn-t-finish

I'm in the middle of this book and it occupies that middle ground between bad and great. It's good, but not compelling, very unlike What I Loved, Hustvedt's previous novel, which for me set the bar very high for the literary thriller. Normally I would keep on reading, but twice this weekend the subject of books so good they can't be put down came up, making me feel like I should really read something that good, as opposed to something not that bad.
