A Crooked Kind of Perfect is a great book for anyone 3rd grade or above. It is a pretty easy read, but with lots of depth that will appeal to older readers. This is Linda Urban’s first book and it is funny and tender and almost reads like free verse, but isn’t. It is a book about finding acceptance in the special things about yourself and your family, even when they aren’t perfect. Wonderful things happen when you can accept what you get in life and love people for who they are. I love the characters; Zoe, her quirky father, hardworking mother, and “friend” Wheeler; they were believable and multi-dimensional. This is a story that leaves the reader with a positive feeling. Keep your eyes open for some really great one-liners. Funny stuff!
