I always like reading books about books and this one doesnt fail to provide a turn of the century look at books and booksellers. This story is about a middle aged "spinster" woman (29 years old hahah)who is living in the shadows of her brother's "the author" life. She becomes tired of keeping house for him and decides to go off on a holiday selling books from a cart. While travelling she encounters so many adventures within a matter of days that she finds keeping house is much more suited to her. However, what she didnt anticipate was falling in love. The ending leads to a sequel, Parnassus at Home.
