The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is told in letters between an author, her friends, and the people of the island of Guernsey which had been occupied by Nazi Germany shortly before.

I really enjoyed much of this quick read. The characters were likable and amusing. The small bits of history of Guernsey were interesting. I just felt like the end came quickly and focused on part of the book in which I wasn't all that interested. I wanted to learn a lot more about the others, and all of the sudden, the main character found her match and it was over. All in all, a nice diversion, but I would much rather have read the book the fictional author is penning.
