First off, I'm not a history buff. The events that fascinate most people I find tired and old. Maybe that's why events like the Civil War are history. Let me quote Axl Rose, "What's so civil 'bout war anyway?" That's the stupidest name for a conflict, ever.

But, I digress. I saw a TV show on the Franklin expedition of 1787 once. Franklin's mission was to find the Northwest Passage to Alaska. They never made it. Afterward, I had to learn more. So, I picked up this book, fascinated by what explorers found and how they were able to reconstruct the doomed voyage.
