Put simply, this is the most amazing autobiography I have ever read. It may be the best biography of a musician I have read as well. Clapton writes with such honesty about his life that it is hard not to get emotional while reading. Yes, the book is full of amazing tales about his musical career. But it is his ability to beat numerous addictions and deal with the loss of his son through his art that make me truly admire him. At it's essence, this book is about struggles that every human, in some form, experiences. I wrote him a letter shortly after finishing to thank him for writing the book. He shared so much of his life with me that I felt it necessary to share mine with him. I've never received a response, yet writing it was one of my proudest moments.
