Short story collection concept: supernatural plus holidays, specifically the winter ones. One covers the winter solstice, one Christmas, one Chinese New Year, and one Thanksgiving. It was cool that they weren't all about Christmas; that aspect really piqued my interest.

I read this primarily for the Kim Harrison story in the Rachel Morgan series. This is the background story of Pierce, who becomes very much a part of the Hollows series in the most recent novels. Frankly, this impressed me. Harrison managed well enough to explain Pierce's background summary that I never realized it all had been revealed in a story until I actually read it. It was an excellent addition to what i knew of Pierce in the novels, more the better because I hadn't realized I was missing anything huge while reading them.

The other stories were ok. The 2nd story in the book was kinda lame, but the rest were decent reads.
