Such a beautiful, energetic spirit. This short book is a collection of talks, so lots of charisma and, unfortunately, lots of repetition, but I was more than moved, esp. by her love for nonviolent resistance; some much needed non-anti-American, informed criticism of the American way.
Love this quote from the author of GOD OF SMALL THINGS:
p 75, from the essay “Come September”
“Perhaps things will get worse and then better. Perhaps there’s a small god up in heaven readying herself for us. Another world is not only possible, she’s on her way. Maybe many of us won’t be here to greet her, but on a quiet day, if I listen very carefully, I can hear her breathing.”
