I think Street Love would appeal to many teens, especially those from bigger cities where struggles are seen every day. I also think the theme of love is one that is of great interest to teens. To throw in the different families only makes it more appealing. To go with this, the topic of gangs and leaving the gang life will be interesting to many teen readers. Finally, aside from the story itself, the writing style of the book may be a nice change of pace for many teen readers.

Developmental Assets: Resistance Skills

The characters are believable in the way the react to their situations. From the way they interacted with family, friends, etc. in regards to the issues of the future and such, it seemed as though it would be how many teens in the same situation would react.

I would promote this book to teens by bringing up the big decisions we face as we grow up and face the future.
