What happened to Marguerite?! Orczy consistently mentions her cleverness, but there's no evidence of it in her actions. She's become a one-dimensional passive heroine...ugh.

Adeeti what's this? there's a sequel?? From your review, I guess it's a good thing I didn't read it...and ruin my wonderful impression of the first book ;)
p.s. I read it in 8th grade and didn't remember anything except the plot

Technically I think this one was the third installment in the series, the sequel was called "I Will Repay" (which I skipped cause the title sounded so strange). Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it. I really liked the story of the first book, but this was the same story rehashed...and not as good. I think there are actually a lot more pimpernel novels (like 10 or something??)
