I read this soon after Coraline. I had been given a postive review by an aquentence. While I was slow to start thinking it would be an abstract read like the first Books of Magic, I enjoyed that there was a clear plot once I got going. I read it quickly once the plot was established. for the most part I enjoyed it, though the chapter passing the time in the dinner was a little weird, even for my horror movie tastes. I really liked how the last chapter made me want to start the next book. What was cool was that it did this by adding to ideas from the first chapter. I even took out the next book immediately, but just never got around to opening it up to start.

The library is claiming I never returned this, yet never sent a nasty letter. Fishy!
