Tell No One by Harlan Coben is a thriller which is based on the lives of Dr. David Beck and Elizabeth Parker Beck. In a flashbahback, the reader learns that David and Elizabeth's love for one another started in Miss Sobel's second grade class. Thirteen years later they marry.
The story opens when they go back to the tree at Lake Charmaine where they shared their first kiss. They are celebrating seven months of married life. They kiss again, swim, and make love. That's when the real excitement begins. Elizabeth is kidnapped, and killed(?), and David is hit on the head with a baseball bat and then left to drown in the lake.
Eight years later, David startsto receive e-mails which led him to believe that Elizabeth might still be alive.
Coben takes his readers on trails leading to the discovery of crimes in high places. Unfortunately, innocent people lose their lives. Other trails lead to the discovery that goodness can be found in the least expected places and in the hearts and actions of family, friends, and lovers. Like most trails there are twists, turns, and new discoveries to be found behind each and every bend. In the end, truth and love prevail even if there are dim shadows cast on those "truths."
