Clever, smart, but semi-predictable. The author does an amazing job describing each of the characters, 70% of the book is back story in beautiful detail (she remembers ALL your senses), 30% is plot. At that, half way through the book you had (or I did?) an idea of how several of the lines were going to collide. That's not to say there weren't wonderful twists and surprising turns, if there hadn't been I wouldn't have finished it.

As it was, I picked it up yesterday afternoon and didn't put it back down until I finished it after midnight. Great read, several steps above your average mind numbing beach reading.
