This book had some good points, and some bad points. Mostly I think their training/discipline methods would work, but sometimes seemed a bit extreme. Also, I disagreed with nearly all of chapter 2 about children not having a conscience or sin until a certain age (if I understood that correctly). But if you take the book as a whole, there are quite a few things to be gleaned.

*Edit: I have recently heard a message on discipline, and now I have to wonder if the methods in this book are good, even if they work for outward behavior. I guess I'll have to read it again, because I can't remember everything very well. But I think they do endorse some methods that are rather like training a dog in this book....

Nicky Ruggier I think you're heading the right to reject the violence this book advocates!
