I enjoyed this book a lot, mostly because all of the characters seemed very life-like. The writer did an excellent job carving out their personalities and showing the horrific effects of the crack epidemic. I think that the story, however, could have been told with less words. This was one of the longest books I've read in quite some time -- definitely an unforgettable portrayal.
