I enjoyed "Anne of Windy Poplars." The writing style was a bit different in that it often took the form of letters written to Gilbert by Anne. Gilbert, Diana, and most of the Avonlea crowd were missing in this book, but as usual, all of the new people in Anne's life fell in love with her quickly, or were helped by her or turned out to be cranks with hearts of gold. For me, it seems none of the sequels can capture the magic of the first book in the series, but they are comfortable and enjoyable reads. I enjoyed the new people here, and the battle between Anne and the Pringles.
