this book held one of the few female heroes hemingway could actually force himself to write (well, i guess the closest thing a girl can get to being a hemingway hero). the book was named in response to a critic that had said that the sun had set on his generation. as you can tell, his response was that the sun also rises. though, i didn't see much hope for the "greatest generation" if that's how they behave. gallivanting around europe, running away from their issues at home, getting wasted every night, people faking that their in danger, etc. honestly, the bull fighting was the best part about the book. if you love hemingway, read this book. if you don't like his long winded sentence structure, avoid it like the plague.
