I just couldn't finish it. It was so boring and I didn't care about any of the characters. Whenever the protagonist got drunk and started swooning over the Imam, I just lost interest. I really wanted to like it. I really wanted to understand the Turkish literature movement but I don't think this one was for me. Its joining the ranks of the very few books I never finished. I might have finished reading it if i hadn't just received a great shipment of books I'm dying to read instead.

651540 I've had this sitting on my shelf for (really) about three years.

I'm stuck on The Little Friend right now, absolutely can't get through it and want to put it in the bin!
