Story is told partly through flashbacks of a teen named Mia, who is in between life and death...the book was depressing, people. When I think of YA's who might like this, I think of fans of Lurlene McDaniel's-or whoever that lady is who always wrote about teens dying.
I predict this book will get banned in some obscure corners of America for the sparse expletives used on occasion, brief mentions/inferences of unprotected sex, as well as the lack of any sort of religious dogma associated with Mia's transcendental experience. But then, I'm cynical that way.
