it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-fantasy, mythopoeic-fantasy
Read in March, 1995

Probably the best single fantasy ever written involving beer. Set in Vienna during the famous Turkish siege, where magic seems to lurk just out of the corner of your eye, whenever mercenary Brian Duffy is near. Excellent references to myth and folktales. Very satisfying novel.
