The first 150 pages were killing me. I hate it when I can't enjoy my reading. But, I couldn't put the book down because I kept wondering what would happen to this always-swearing-boy--fyi, I hate that swearing part so much. Yet, as I read more and more pages, I noticed that the story was about a boy trying to look inside him, finding out who he really was. The part where he thought he would go away and built a life in the West, he sounded like a child. And, he really was. Yet, he just got confused by all the things happening in his life, including his brother's death, I guess. On those first 150 pages, I almost wished I hadn't started reading the book. But afterwards, I had to thank the person at the bookstore who had told me to buy it--fyi, I didn't know him.
