The moving story of a boy named Georgie who suffers from unspeakable abuse at the hands of his alcoholic mother and her boyfriend Steve. When Georgie wins a rosebush at the local grocery store lottery, he wants nothing more than to find a safe, healthy place to care for and raise his new plant. When social services gets involved, Georgie goes to stay at a boarding school where he learns a great deal about himself and his heart as he befriends the local nuns and the family across the street. In the end, Georgie opens his heart to love and he is able to give away the one thing he loves the most to honor a friend. A touching story...
