This was incredible. Before listening to this baby in the car (or parked in my driveway at 2 am -- unable to go inside,) I don't think I really understood ANYTHING about Afghanistan.

Not that I didn't care, but the middle east is a bit confusing. Ya know, I hate to say I'm a cultural idiot, but I didn't really "get it" the way I did after this book.

The story follows the lives of these two woman, Laila and Mariam. They are incredible and the story just makes you hold your breath. It's awesome...for sure get the unabridged audiobook.
