A kind of all over the place book, which I like. But after I was done reading, it was hard to put my finger on what I just read! It was also really personal, sometimes a bit too much and sometimes just not that well-written. Or I should say, it was funny in a kind of silly way that made it not great literature.

The good things about this book were the family history, including family tree, history of NYC, history of sugar, and observations about business. He got into too many details with the corruption and the trials.
